Because of interactive virtual roaming in simulation scene based on virtualreality technology, has characteristics of muti-sensory, interactive, immersive andautonomy etc, it is widely used in structure exhibition, personnel operation training,product structure design verification. Compared with other virtual roaming system,nuclear and radiation environment simulation scene has characteristics of complexgeometric structure, multi-angle personnel roaming location tracking etc, it leads tolow rendering frames and unable to realize real-time interaction and other problemsin the process of virtual simulation scene roaming. This paper presents a method toimprove real-time interactive rendering efficiency in simulation scene mainly fromthree processes of automatic segmentation of simulation scene data, view frustumculling of simulation scene, roaming location real-time tracking based on arbitraryplanar of simulation scene. The method lays a foundation for real-time interactivevirtual roaming for large-scale nuclear and radiation scene.The main contents and innovations as follows:(1) Based on deep analysis of the structure characteristics of nuclear andradiation scene and visibility determination, combined the technology ofthree-dimensional space partition, this paper presents a real-time interactive virtualroaming method based on octree view frustum culling. This method solves thereal-time interaction problem in complex nuclear and radiation simulation scene. Inaddition, in order to assist user predict the radiation dose distribution in thewalking path, and avoid repeat rendering while multi-angle personnel roaminglocation tracking, this paper presents a tracking map method based on image space.(2) Based on the above key algorithm researches, this paper carries out systemgeneral design. Otherwise, in accordance with the software engineering standard,the author eventually completed the development of the real-time interactive virtualroaming prototype system for nuclear and radiation scene based on object oriented,cross-platform, open source graphics rendering engine OGRE.(3) The above algorithm and system are applied in the three-dimensional displayand virtual roaming of significant international technology cooperationplanā€¯International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER)ā€¯ PF4repair scene. The application effect shows that the algorithm and system have fine characteristicof real-time interactivity and reliability.
