Based On The Projection Plane Of The Virtual Reality Research And Development Of The Roaming System

Virtual reality technology is a developing production which is synthesized from computer graphics, artificial intelligence, computer networks and information processing. Among virtual reality technology, large projection immersed environment has been increasingly used. The key reason is that it can provide the spectators a good immersed feeling for its virtual effects. In this thesis, large projection immersed environment is used in virtual campus which is valuable in both research and practice.First this thesis gives some meaningful conclusions for large modeling work and model optimization. A virtual reality roaming research platform is developed with 3D open resource engine OSG and MFC framework on desktop system. On the platform, a path-edited function module for the large projection immersed environment and the simulation module of rain, snow and fountain effect which are based on paticle system are developed in order to enhance the realism of the scene. In addition, the game steering wheel roaming function is also developed on desktop system with Win32. Theory of the configuration for large projection immersed environment is analysed and finally a virtual reality roaming system with the roaming means of both path-edited and steering wheel is successfully developed which proves to be effective.The parallel development of virtual reality function module on desktop system and configuration for large projection immersed environment based on graphics workstations decrease the difficulty of the system development. Both sides can contribute to each other. The method metioned above not only manifests the immersed characteristic of large projection but also pays more attention to the application of virtual reality technology on desktop system.
