The primary task of the establishment of the mobile communication network is network planning. The perfect network planning and the positive engineering construction can protect the proper operation of mobile communications network, and it is also the premise of the market’s further development.WCDMA is not only the most matured in3G network technology, but also is the most widely globaly used mobile communication network. This thesis makes comprehensive discussion aiming at the technical features of the WCDMA. According to the technical features and the requirement analysis of the market, the base station location, site investigation, the scale estimation, the planning simulations are investigated in this thesis. Based on the analyses of XiaoGan municipality’s economic conditions, geographical location, and its geographical features, the detailed planning for XiaoGan WCDMA network is done in this thesis.This thesis focuses on the distribution characteristics of the WCDMA network of XiaoGan city. Because WCDMA network is new network and the current service demand mainly concentrates in the urban, our planning focuses on the city area, large towns, and the main traffic roads. Due to the technical features, the construction of the indoor cellular base stations in the places of high flow people is done, and this overcomes the shortcomings of the weak coverage This thesis also briefly describes the diffusion scale of the2012XiaoGan municipality’s WCDMA and makes the predictions of future trends after its expansion and that will help the company to take the chance to lay a solid foundation in the fierce market competition in future.
