With China’s 3G licences in January 7,2009 formally issued, "3G"is becoming the focus of the industry again. A few years ago the industry has been Speculated that 3G licence when issuing, how to assign, but,the different is,now the concern is the three big operators how to more quickly built 3G network to cover the large and medium city of china, so that they can occupy a place In the domestic 3G market. As the world’s most widely used, the industrial chain of the most mature WCDMA license in China Unicom,we should avoid that the network construction is congenitally deficient and late obstruct mobile phone business promotion, therefore, Discussion of network planning and construction of the WCDMA wireless is very important.Firstly, study and analyze the WCDMA system network architecture, UTRAN composition, function, logic structure and component of wireless access network, introduces the wireless access network of the RNC system and NodeB system. On this basis, according to China Unicom 3G construction general ideas, combined with the actual situation of Shanxi Unicom, the research of network construction principle and programme of WCDMA wireless, which include design principles of the base station, analysis of base station coverage capability, the construction principle of covering, the construction scheme of covering, construction scheme of the network capacity,2/3 G interoperability strategy, demand of interface circuit, the base station transport demand of the 8 aspects, form a set of construction scheme of WCDMA wireless network. Besides,Combined with Shanxi Unicom real network environment,we complete the application in the engineering practice, during engineering practice,we also complete equipment selection of the base station construction of RNC, OMC-R engineering and construction, planning of interface signaling,Frequency planning and interference coordination, numbering plan and other practical work,we finally complete the established goal of the project construction, Improved through the current urban construction and 3G network coverage within the county, mainly to resolve some of the depth of coverage and coverage of the new city; improve the pre-project has been covered several important high-speed network; resolved over 4A hot spots within the coverage area issues; better meet the high-grade office buildings, airports, high-end business district, upscale community, government departments, universities, downtown streets, dense urban areas such as mobile broadband data services development needs, improve the drop rate, wireless system connection rate and other indicators of user perception.Which laid a solid foundation for WCDMA wireless network coverage of Shanxi Unicom and improving WCDMA wireless network quality.
