As a foundation network, metropolitan area network transmission network plays an important role in the quality of telecommunication network.A wide coverage, high stability, large capacity transmission network is development foundation of the telecom Operators, with the rapid development of communication technology, the expansion of the network scale, rapid growth of consumer’s amount, increased rapidly of service types, the disadvantages of transmission network of existing was exposed,such as the network paralysis, resource tension, difficult to expanding network capacity, single service types, the user’s requirements to the network performance constantly improve,it makes the point of transmission network had already transferred to network optimization, exploit potentialities of network, Various, reliable and flexible access mode.The technique can leaps, the network can evolution only, and the network optimization is the only way of network development. The integrity of network, especially the survivability of the network is the main problems of network construction.This paper studies on survivability and optimization design for optical transport networks of TIETONG QIQIHAER BRANCH.First, characteristics and application situation of different SDH network topology is introduced, the principle, implementation and difference of various SDH network protection is analyzed, and the main influencing factors of network survivability is analyzed too, the main technology of improving network survivability is discussed in this paper. Secondly, this paper introduces the network topology of metropolitan area transmission network in TIETONG QIQIHAER BRANCH, and its survivability is analyzed. This paper adopts method that the complex network is resolved into representative subnetwork and then the survivability is analyzed.Finally, on the basis of above study and analysis, this paper puts forward optimization design of survivability, including implementation of optimization scheme. The conclusion that the survivability of the whole network is improved according to the optimization results is obtained.After the implementation of optimization scheme, the survivability of metropolitan area transmission network in TIETONG QIQIHAER BRANCH has been improved and the network structure has been more perfect.
