LXI(LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation) bus technology uses Ethernet as the primary communications means between devices.Ethernet used in every field today,Compared with GPIB,PXI and VXI bus technology,LXI bus technology has the advantage of reduction in the physical size,decreasing the cost,high-speed and increasing system performance. It is more suited to form a networked and distributed automatic test system. In this paper the designed2GS/s LXI logical analyzer belongs to Class A LXI devices and meets the LXI Standard.It realizes the2GS/s timing analysis, trigger recognition and storage of data of sixty-four channels.This paper firstly introduces LXI bus technology,Logic Analyzer simply and analyzes the research situation of LXI devices at home and abroad.Then the importance of the research of LXI devices is emphasized. LXI Logic Analyzer hardware design is divided into two parts—LXI interface module design and data acquisition module design to introduce.In the design of LXI interface module, Embedded ARM9(S3C2440) core board is used as hardware development platform and WINCE operating system is used as sofeware development platform.This section introduces the three LXI trigger patterns including IEEE1588trigger,Hardware trigger and LAN trigger.The cooperation among the three LXI trigger patterns has also been introduced.In the design of data acquisition module,it introduces the front probe channel design and focuses on how to meet the2GS/s timing analysis of data through the methods of serialin parallelout and phase shifting sampling as well as the storage and control of sampling data. In addition the FPGA also implements a variety of trigger identification,including edge trigger,pulse width trigger, pattern and sequence trigger.At last,the paper also introduces test methods and results of the LXI Logic Analyzer. The test shows that IEEE1588trigger precision and hardware trigger precision of this device meet the requirements of the index. The Logic Analyzer related technical indicators,such as the highest rate timing analysis,storage depth,delay between channels and so on also meet the requirements.
