The Research On The Jiaku Management Of Tang Dynasty

On the basis of liberal politics and prosperous culture, a Golden Age of the situation of Chinese feudal society was created in Tang Dynasty, and in this social context a breakthrough was made in the Tang Dynasty file management work. The essential cause of the Jiaku’s establishment is the result of the feudal bureaucratic system’s further development. With the development of the Imperial Examination System and the creation of the Quanxuan system, Jiali, the official personnel file was formed heavily, which directly resulted in the establishment of the Jiaku. Tang Dynasty rulers paid attention to the management of the Jiali and Jiaku, and proposed strict requirements to officials in Jiaku, what’s more, they formulated a series of management system for the Jiaku. Although the management of the Jiaku was abusive and disordered in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, it affected the development of later archival work a lot. By reviewing the history, it has great significance for the enrichment of archival professional knowledge and the development of modern personnel file career to learn from the experience and absorb the failure of the management of the Jiaku in Tang Dynasty.The thesis is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the purpose and significance of this thesis and the relevant research review. The second chapter is the establishment of the Jiaku in Tang Dynasty, which describes and analyzes the reasons of the Jiaku’s establishment and the setting situation of the Jiaku’s institutions and officials. The dissertation about the reasons for the establishment of the Jiaku include the officials selecting system in Tang Dynasty, the mature of personnel file and the attitude of the rulers, and that is convenient to do further interpretation on the Jiaku’s political significance and Jiali’s chronicles impact below. The descriptions of the officials in charge and the Ling Shi’s establishment lay the groundwork for the exploring the damage of Xuli in the Jiaku’s management. The third chapter is the file management system of the Jiaku in Tang Dynasty, which discusses about six aspects of the Jiali files, including collection, identification, arrangement, storage, using and juristic protection. The management system of the Jiaku is tight, and that contributes saliently to the later archival management work. The fourth chapter is the comments of the Jiaku’s management in Tang Dynasty, which analysis the defects of the Jiaku’s management in the late Tang Dynasty and the impacts of the Jiaku’s management. It demonstrates that the political unrest in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, the Jiali’s own defects and the damage of Xuli finally lead to the confusion of the Jiaku’s management, expounds the Jiaku is the beginning of the independent form of archival work and analyzes the Jiaku’s effect on the feudal politics of Tang Dynasty and the later archival work. It also pointes out that the authenticity and utilization of the personnel files in the modern personnel files work can learn from the methods and measures of the Jia Ku’s management, and by going back in history for the moment, we can better develop the modern personnel files career.
