The book Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty is a collection of poems and articles of sixty Tang dynasty literature masters, which was first published in Sichuan area, Song dynasty. There are as many as twenty-four editions of this book now, which make it the most quantity and the most systematic book during all the song-edition books about tang masters. This collection is considered as a giant masterpiece in the area of edition study, and even in the field of Chinese culture. On one hand, this collection is the first one among all the collections of tang dynasty works. It has very significant value in collate、 collection and errata work. On the other hand, this book is the earliest origin literature material. It is the most powerful material in the research about the evolution of Chinese block printing, and the transmission of the culture of books. As well, as the first hand material, this collection has remarkable value in the field of literary history of the Tang Dynasty and social history.However, because of the lack of historical material records, the publisher, the publish background and even the meanings of some specific terms are not clear at all. It is also uncertain about the transmission process from song dynasty to now, which means a very poor and vague transmission inheriting relationship. Also, about the position and value of this book among all the collections on tang masters, none objective evaluation can be found. So the objective judgment of the song edition Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty is still needed. Recently, the researchers more likely focus their interest on part of this collection rather than considering the Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty as a whole collection. Such work on the Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty in the overview does not exist.Considering the big research value of Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty, we wrote this paper, song edition Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty, to cover the research hole about this collection. By edition appraisal、 version value judgments and edition collection spread, we did our research on every Anthology in an overview of this collection. In order to unveil the truth of publish, to show the edition property as well as to further clarify the publish state in Sichuan area, song dynasty; we explained the culture phenomena and meaning during the transmission process of the Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty. As well, we focused on better arranging and collating the works of tang masters and making a more precise edition standard, so as to reach a better understanding about the tang literal and society history. In this paper, we explained our ideas in several aspects as bellow.1、Edition IdentificationIn this chapter, first, we worked on clarify the meanings about some specific terms, and found out the edition structure about that. Second, based on the research about taboo word and other methods, we found out the publish time of the collection and unveiled the truth of such a huge publish project. Third, in order to find out the publisher of the Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty, we worked on the square carved culture, which is sparsely talked about in previous work. At last, by contrast of different editions and other related works, we explained the edition properties of Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty.2、Edition value judgmentsIn this chapter, we first discussed the revises on the titles and the number of volumes done by the publisher and showed the contribution such work on the transmission of tang masterpieces. Secondly, we found out several complicated tang masterpieces collections to give an objective evaluation on the importance and position of the edition. Thirdly, we cataloged several main collections of tang masterpieces, so as to show the importance and position of edition in the edition structure. At last, we objectively discussed the significance of this collection.3、Literature collation value.In this chapter, we collated Liu Mengdes Quan Zaizhi、Sun Kezhi’s anthology with popular editions, in order to find out the exactly inheriting relationship and establish a standard collate result about this three books for other researchers.4、edition collection spreadIn this chapter, we clarified the collection and transmission situations form song dynasty to now, so as to give some Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty edition structure clues during the transmission of the book and discuss the culture property in the transmission.At last, as for appendix, we sorted the bibliography in different eras related to the Sixty Kinds of Anthology of Tang Dynasty, as a reference for other researchers.
