The Research On ASON Technology And Its Application In Engineering

With the development of network communication service and the appearance of integration trend, the allocation technology and construction mode of the static transmission bandwidth used by the today’s network has become more and more difficult to meet the user’s needs and the needs of the network operation. Automatic Switch Optical Network (ASON) technology, compared to the original optical transmission network technology, is more reliable,flexible, efficient, and can provide dynamic network configuration, improve the efficiency of the network and the rapid recovery network protection, support customer’s demand of different business level, find the network resources, and better adapt to the enterprise service transmission. ASON represents the new direction of the current optical transmission network development.This paper mainly discusses the technology of ASON and the key problems of its application, and the result of the study has been used in planning and design of the provincial transport network in a certain telecommunication operator of Inner. Mongolia.The main research work of this paper are as follows:(1) Closely tracking the key technology of ASON and its application condition both at home and abroad, expounding the evolution direction of the optical transmission network;(2)studying the key problems of ASON technology application,such as the timing of introducing, and network evolution, business loading, equipment selection, network maintenance. Expounding the ASON network planning and design methods from three levels:the transmission, the control and management.(3)Through detailed analysis and discussion, putting forward a set of transmission network construction scheme based on ASON technology, as well as the solution to the problem in engineering construction according to the business development needs and the existing problems of the provincial main transmission network of a telecommunication operator in Inner Mongolia.
