Compared with the old optical transmision network, Automatically Switehed Optical Network(ASON) is more relibale, flexible and efficient. It can offer dynamic configuration for network. It improves the efficiency of network and the abaility of rapid protection and restoration, and it supports business needs of dieffernt levels of service, and it can automatically discover network resources and better meet IP transmission.ASON currently represents the new dieretion of optical transmission network development, the telecommunications operators will apply ASON on the network on a larger scale in recent years. The author works on the optieal communications network planing and desingning for many years. According to status of the current optical transmission network, this paper analysis The key to ASON technologies and ASON applications on the transmission network, gives the current building strategy of ASON, and completes the programme design of ASON works for Linfen United Network Communications Limited. This paper will offer better information and guidance of building of ASON.The main research is as follows:(1)It does a close traeing researeh on ASON key technologies and its application at home and abroad.(2)Through a thorough analysis and discussion on the need of Linfen local transmission network and its existing problems, the Paper gives a transmission network-building solution which is based on ASON technologies. It also brings forth a detailed program of the network construction.(3)The network test of HuaWei OSN 7500 is expounded, and the QOS of the network performance is reasoned in the Paper.
