Analysis On The Characteristics And Developing Countermeasures Of Sports Journalism In The Omnimedia Era

With the development of science and technology and the update of means ofcommunication, media convergence has become a new trend. The rapid growth of new mediahas brought great challenges to the traditional media. Omnimedia is the new concept andcountermeasure for trends of media convergence as well as digitalization of traditional media.Omnimedia operation and strategy is explored in the field of communication currently, but itstill in initial stage.Traditional media showed lots of highlights of omnimedia sports journalism on2008Beijing Olympic Games and2010Guangzhou Asian Games. Comprehensive using ofcommunication characteristics to report sports news is able to satisfy informationrequirements of different audience. Compared with news reporting of traditional media, newsreporting for omnimedia has distinctive characteristics. To be specific, they are compositecommunication channels, comprehensive news report, complete journalist, multiple audienceroles, and sharable information. However, many problems exist in omnimedia sportsjournalism, and need to be solved step by step in the future.This thesis analyzes the problems, and puts forward countermeasures for solving them.Traditional media should go with the tide of media convergence, and focus on establishingcore competitive power, reinforcing the construction of content, training complete journalist,expanding the scope of audience, strengthening guidance of public opinion and finding aprefect way for sports journalism in omnimedia era.
