| In resent years, the news with such suspense word as "or","maybe" and "perhaps" hasappeared in newspapers, TV, broadcast, network and other medias."Suspense" is nowentering into the field of news, becoming active in various medias, and concerned by agrowing number of audiences."Suspense News" comes into being.This paper has been divided into three parts to interpret and analyze the suspense newsfrom multiple views. The first part mainly discussed the following aspects: Throughresummarizing the definition of news, we discussed that whether the suspense news is really apiece of news; Whether it is in accordance with the news definition or not; What is therelationship between news and suspense news; Does suspense news correspond with thetruthfulness of news; How many classifications of suspense news; What are the features ofthese classifications; What is its reporting form and; What is its evolution road of reportingfacts. In the second part, we mainly analyzed the impact generated by suspense news. Forpositive impact, it has played a certain role in satisfying audiences’ expectation, especially ithas an effect of prediction and warning when some serious events happened. Besides that, itrealized and expanded the news value. However, under the present circumstance that thevalue and truthfulness of news have been repeatedly threatened, the quality of reporters isuneven, and the journalism ethics or moral reaches its limits, suspense news is inevitably"suspensive", lacking of follow-up reports. Eventually it will be turned out to be false newsand "stunt" just for attracting audiences’ attention, damaging the credibility of the media, andgenerating some negative impact.In the third part, we discussed that how suspense news to seek its advantages whileavoiding the disadvantages. This requires the media to make exercise and enhancement in aharmonization of pragmaticism, speediness and truthfulness, and the correct direction ofpublic opinion. We should, with concerted efforts, promote a healthy media environment forreporting "suspense news", to play its key role in satisfying audiences’ expectation, realizingnews value and prewarning serious events. |
