Design And Implement For Business Intelligence Based IC Enterprise Information System

In order to survive and win outstanding competitive strength among the white-hot market economy, managers and decision-makers of the company must catch the trend of marketing on one hand one the other hand must clearly understand current status of the company, only this way they can quickly make kinds of strategies and tactics. Base on this circumstance, western industry introduce Business Intelligence concept and widely implemented into various industries. As frontiers of science, IC industry pays particularly attention to the BI implementation.As the world’s fourth largest storage chipset design provider, company S started building various information systems from1995. With the construction of information system, it had generated large amounts of data, these data included valuable information for different level decision-makers of the company, but each business system generated dispersed, isolated data could rarely be used in decision analysis. Implementing business intelligence strategy was vital to effectively utilize data underplayed in those application systems for enhancing enterprise decision-making capability.From2009, Company S started the project for enterprise information system, the system design was based on business intelligence framework with IC industry characteristics, and it would provide an efficient decision support platform to decision-makers of the company by integrating large amounts of distributed data among information system. The project focuses on three problem domain (how are we doing; why; what should we be doing.) and would base on Cognos framework to provide the complete solution.This paper was based on company’s enterprise information system project, the author involved in the system design and the development of core functions. Firstly this pager will introduce the business intelligence in the field of concept, next explains the business intelligence framework and its design principle, then introduces the current mainstream business intelligence software providers, finally address the design and implementation of paper’s background project.The system first version was already on the line on April2011successfully, providing the company decision-making layer with sales Shipment, Backlog, Booking and Debooing and EP on data supporting. As such greatly enhance the company on the market reaction sensitivity and the validity of decision had been reached to a new level.
