With the rapid progress of medical science, people’s requirements on medicalservice continue to increase, and the patient’s medical information is growing. Theexisting medical information management system is more and more difficult to meet thegrowing need for medical service. The current prevalence of medical informationsystems have only focused on patient management and fee information management inlarge part, while neglecting the patient medical information management. There stillexist many problems to be solved in the current medical and health institutions at alllevels in the use of the hospital information system, such as medical information storageand management problem lead by the diversity and complexity of the patient medicaldata generated from increasingly advanced imaging device; the lack of norms processfor the medical information of patients recording and transmitting with the disease cycle;the difficulty of patients’ medical information transmission and exchange generated bydecentralized of medical institutions at all levels. This research is based on the needs ofthe new healthcare service, and makes a comprehensive summary of advantages,disadvantages and experience lesson of the modern information system developmentprocess. We draw lessons from the CIMS and PDM technology of the modernmanufacturing industry informatization construction, and make full use of the advancedcomputer technology. Then we design a patient oriented life cycle of medicalinformation data model to establish a patient oriented life cycle of medical informationmanagement system. Through this system, we can not only realize the medicalinformation transmission, storage and use of between medical institutions at all levels,but guarantee the patients’ medical information accuracy, integrality and consistency inthe whole life cycle.The first chapter mainly introduces patients’ life cycle of medical information, andpresent development of the domestic and foreign medical information system; thesecond chapter analyzes the subject of design needed for programming and databasetechnology and the thought that draw lessons from; in the third chapter, we put forwardto face the patient’s life cycle of medical information data model based on the foundation of the first two chapters; the fourth chapter discusses the demand analysis ofthe medical information management system we designed; the fifth chapter and thesixth chapter discusses the medical information management system designing andrealization, and we make a comprehensive test for the system in chapter seventh; Finallywe summarized this research results.
