A Study On Fu Xiongxiang’s Journalism Thought

Fu Xiongxiang, a well-known social activist in modern times, devoted himself to the education and publication area, Since entering the press circle in1906and working on the profession for20-odd years till his death in1930, he had undertaken much journalism practice and developed abundant journalism thought, which left Hunan Province extremely valuable materials for the journalism history study.In the introduction, the thesis firstly conducts a comprehensive review on the following questions:the reason of choosing the topic, the current state of related research, the basic structure of the thesis, then divides the body into four parts. The first part and The second part surveys Fu Xiongxiang’s life story and activities of journalism, and explores the reason that he undertakes the trade of journalism. The third part mainly explores Fu Xiongxiang’s thought on journalism. the thesis analyses his main content of journalism thought and categorizes it into four aspects such as the view of Journalism originating from China, the View of liberal journalism, the View of journalism operation and the View of journalism education.The third parts summarizes the main feature of Fu Xiongxiang’s journalism thought. After this, the thesis makes a comment on Fu Xiongxiang’s journalism thought mainly from the two aspects:the historic value and the historic limitations.
