Research On The Teaching Practice Of News Practice During The Republic Of China (1918-1949)

The paper takes the practical teaching activities carried out by the news education institutions during the Republic of China from 1918 to 1949 as the main research object. In the early 20th century,China's journalism education rose in the rapid development of the modern newspaper industry, and the practical teaching link has always been an important part of news education. At the beginning,China's news education was mainly affected by the journalism education concept of the US. Special attention was paid to practical activities related to journalism, and the"Missouri way" of the US was regarded as the teaching blueprint. Meanwhile, due to the practical characteristics of the journalism industry itself, the rapid development of China's modern newspaper industry, the urgent need for high-quality journalistic talent, China's practical teaching of journalism has gained continuous development and improvement with the birth of China's journalism education.The paper divides the journalism education institutions during the period of the Republic of China into the journalism department of institution of higher learning and occupational journalism schools. With the Journalism Department of Yenching University and Beiping Journalism Technical College as the case, the paper sorts out the ideas of journalism education institutions during the period of the Republic of China in the practice of teaching activities, explores the situation about their practical teaching in aspects such as establishing practice platform on campus,setting the practical teaching courses, practicing in newspaper offices, achievements made by graduates etc., summarizes and analyzes the characteristics, influences and achievements of the two different educational institutions in the process of carrying out the practical journalism teaching, so as to present the features of practical journalism teaching during period of the Republic of China and provide reference for the reform and development of the current journalism education.
