| This Paper take "Resentment" as the role of an emotional mechanisms in the network cluster events, and thus to explore the emotional factors associated with the construction of the public sphere.Around the theme of "Resentment", this paper analyze the resentment theory, combing the lineage from modern to contemporary resentment, which states: resentment is a product of modernity, and is closely related to human existence, which reveals the modern survive in the competitive survival comparisons. Resentment theory has two research paths:the first is to take the resentment as a kind of ethics which belongs to the philosophical study; the second is to take the resentment as a social emotion which belongs to the political science and sociology. The former reflects the "anti-modern", the latter prefers to promote modernity by the "anti-modern". In the second path, resentment studies have been gradually sheltered by the conflict studies, and scattered in the study of social protest. This paper argues that this theory tendency also illustrates the preference to the "modernity" in the modern contemporary western academy. On this basis of China’s modernity, this paper further explore the association between resentment and modernity in the contemporary China, and shows that the resentment in Chinese academy should be starting from the second research path.Then, this paper focuses on the association between the resentment and the construction of public sphere, as the starting point to explore the mechanism of such association in the network cluster events. First, the theoretical analysis point that resentment in the public space has two basic modes of action:resentment imagination and resentment mobilization. Resentment imagination contains the identity imagination and the revenge imagination. The identity imagination refers to the subject and the object:"us" versus "them".The revenge imagination is adopted in the ways that the resentment object is being stigma and labeled by the subject, which means the discourse fight. Discussion of resentment mobilization is carried out from the perspective of social protest, to construct the resentment on the social protest mobilization model. This model is based in the theoretical structure of the state society relations, according to the resentment development as the social emotion. This model contains the role of macroeconomic factors in the social structure and state-controlled two, and it can be divided into five stage-to arouse resentment resentment accumulate-resentment mobilization-resentment digestion/transformation/conceal.Second, this article continues to explore the group resentment in the network cluster events. The main findings include:1, resentment is the dominant factor in the development of the network cluster events;2,state control and resentment arousing are the key stage in the resentment mobilization in the network cluster events;3,the identity imagination of resentment in the network cluster events can be divided into two categories (Chinese people-foreigners, civilians-the rich and the powerful), four subclasses (Chinese people-foreigners, citizens-the officials, the poor-the rich, the public-the intellectual elite);4,the revenge imagination in the network cluster events has two main ways, namely, the stigma to the "other" and the human flesh search initiated by "us" for the "other". In these studies, we believe that in the network cluster events, resentment is the important mechanism to mobilize the "network hermit" to the "network knight ",and thus dominate the development process of the network cluster events. Due to the resentment mobilization, the internet groups involved in public social and legal matters and interact with national impact on social and public affairs as the powerful social forces.However, this article also realize that resentment mobilization as a social emotion mechanism in the network cluster events are not isolated, which interact with the other emotional mechanisms, such as the family, love, friendship and nostalgia. Among them, the traditional affection prime and promote resentment mobilization mechanism, such as the nostalgia based on the traditional geopolitical and the school friendship based the traditional human ethic; the urban community identity based on the modern geopolitical also has obvious influence; In addition, this article points that the resentment mobilization also interact with the rational factors at the same time. This coexistence is often reflected in the organization of the particular cluster. Rational factors often depends on the organization degree how the internet groups involved in the events. These organizations cluster together because of the resentment mobilization. Once formed, organizers tend to make collective action rational,in order to lift the resistance efficiency, thereby easing the conflict and to reach a consensus with the protest objects. |
