The subgrade characteristics is an important index for evaluating the stability of subgrade, subgrade characteristics monitoring is of great significance for the safety of railway and highway.First of all, this paper expounds research status of subgrade characteristics monitoring, summarizes the existing monitoring method of subgrade stability, analysis the characteristics of3d visualization technology, and the significance of3d visualization applications in subgrade monitoring, propose new type of realization method of subgrade characteristics monitoring system with3d visualization and the overall scheme system.Sencondly, design hardware circuit of the front end data acquisition unit and write the software code. Realize the subgrade characteristics collection and the data transmission between the acquisition unit and the monitoring center. And develop the monitoring software with LabVIEW, the monitoring software include the serial interface communication,subgrade3d visualization display, historical data query, some point information capture and display, and unknown point information estimation and so on. Completed construction of the subgrade three-dimensional modelling with VRML. Use the ActiveX embed Cortonaplayer browser into front panel of LabVIEW successfully, realize3d visualization display of the subgrade characteristics, and put forward theoretical methods and implementation technology of the3d visualization of subgrade characteristics, and achieved good results. Finally, test the function of each part of the monitoring system, ensure the system to work properly, and put forward solutions of improving system.
