Aiming at the oil/water two-phase flow characteristic problems, the differential pressure measurement system was designed and the selection and installation of the differential pressure sensor and signal acquisition were studied systematically. Through combining the differential pressure sensor with the multi-electrode array probe, we studied the oil/water two-phase flow characteristics particularly in the transition of flow pattern. After defining the conception of phase inversion, we pointed out the transition boundary and the partition model of flow pattern based on the physical signal responding under the flow condition of large diameter and low velocity. The volume fraction was an important parameter of the oil/water two-phase flow measurement. The method of the volume fraction measurement was summarized and the differential pressure sensor measurement theory was analyzed in this paper. Then, we studied the drift-flux flow model and the individual pahse flux prediction model for the non-concentration flow. Finally, the slip ration between the light phase and heavy phase was studied and the water cut prediction model based on the conception of slippage ratio was established. The comparison results of water cut prediction show that it is superior to other models based on the slippage velocity.
