Voyage real-time data acquisition and dynamic monitoring and management for the safe navigation of ships have a very important role. But our ship’s data acquisition and analysis system are still on developing stage. We have not been able to launch a stronger and more intelligent ship data acquisition and analysis system. Resulting in the difficulty which the data monitored by ship can’t be integrated processing. And the difficulty causes great inconvenience to the ship pilot, not only wastes human resources, but also increases the security risk. It is a serious obstacle to the vigorous development of China’s shipping industry. How to design a set of high reliability, high efficiency, good real-time ship dynamic data acquisition and analysis system is to solve the top priority of this hidden danger.With the complex structure of the ship and a wide range of collected data, the distribution of ship data source is very complex. However, due to the complex condition within the cabin, in the case of the number of sensors is too large, too much of the transmission line make the cabling technicians increase the burden and the latter cabling sometimes can’t be completed. In addition, the burden of the line maintenance is heavier. The damaged transmission line will result in the abnormal transmission of the information.To solve this problem, this paper presents a design program based on wireless sensor networks, ship data collection and transmission. Industrial wireless networking standard WIA-PA protocol applies industrial wireless networking to ship for the first time. WIA network fully complies with the WIA system architecture of the People’s Republic of China national standard for process automation and communication specification (WIA-PA). It is a high reliability, low cost, ultra low-power industrial wireless network. This network not only apply to home automation, environmental monitoring and medical care which are low rate, low-cost, short distance, less the amount of data collection and monitoring system of wireless sensor networks, and in particular in the field of industrial process automation and factory automation.This research program uses the embedded technology, wireless sensor network technology and the host computer data processing technology, forming a new type of ship dynamic data acquisition and analysis system. Each sensor transfers the data through the wireless network. Finally, the host computer processes and displays the data. WIA-PA standard gives full play to its advantages which are hierarchical organizational model, adaptive frequency hopping model and automatic retransmission mechanism, users can easily use and manage, low power consumption, high reliability, high security. In the ship, a number of wireless sensor devices, wireless monitoring devices, wireless routers and wireless gateway are composed of a multi-hop Mesh Networks. Each device within the network is in line with the unified communications standard. Technical staff can easily add or replace the wireless monitoring equipment. And the economy, ease of use, as well as scalability of the vessel monitoring system are greatly improved.
