A data acquisition system based on the wireless sensor networks was studied. The work was discussed including the completion of the wireless node hardware platform and the program designs of star toplogy network communication and the development of alarming & monitoring computer software.According to the typical structure, characteristics and applications of wireless sensor network, an engine room monitoring and alarming system solution based on the wireless sensor network data acquisition system was build.In order to unified hardware platform, both AP (Access Point) and ED (End Device) constructed by MSP430F423 and CC1110. The ED node was designed to use the built-in ADC to achieve their own node data collection, and also can serve as a controller of a fieldbus data acquisition subsystem which based on RS485.The key technology of SimpliciTI wireless protocol was analyzed to realize point to point and star toplody network communications, and the improvement of network layer protocol was proposed to enhance the effectiveness and reliability.A control software was developed to implement the data collection subsystem on the basis of RS485 bus protocal. The software was carried by MSP430F423 to effect the function of control module 17000 and data collectionPC remote monitoring software was programmed by adopting C++ builder5.0 to apply to Engine Room Alarm Monitoring System. The configuration and communications program based on SimpliciTI was designed to achieve communication between the nodes. By acquiring the data from the field data acquisition subsystem, the following functions such as system-wide data process, display and alarm was realized.
