Wireless Sensor Network is a kind of self-organizing network, which is composed of many small nodes wired by wireless communication technologies. The WSN can pick up data, transform data and process data. It is a new field of information technology. It integrates sensor module, data processing module and wireless communication module in a tiny physical unit. The functions of this new sensor are much more than the traditional one. It can not only sense the environmental information but also has the functions of data processing and wireless communication.Strain measurement is one of the important means that analyses accessory or structure stress, validates design correctness, confirms complete machine load status when working or studies physical phenomenon mechanism in mechanical engineering.Based on key research into the WSN and according to the analysis of engineering strain measurement, a wireless stress data acquisition system is developed with an embedded single chip microcomputer C8051F020. The research and realization of the wireless network routing protocol is carried out.First, the basic principle of the strain measurement with bonding resistance, theory of strain measurement, method and the relative signal disposition are introduced in the dissertation. Second, the present network protocol of WSN is analysed and contrasted. According to the features of strain measurement, new wirless network protocol has been figured out, which is characterized by initializing the network first, obaining network routing table and then calling the polling scheme after entering normal working status. The design and developing process of the wireless stress data acquisition system is introduced in detail from both hardware and software. The designs of sensor node and sink node, the application program based on VC++ 6.0 are implemented. Finally, on the spot detection is carried out and contrast is made between the new strain measuring instrument and the traditional one, and further development suggestions are given in the dissertation.Experiments show that the new system overcomes the defects of the present measuring instrument, such as large bulk, long preparing, and in convenience.
