The Study Of Personal Information Management Of The College Students

With the rapid development of an information society, nowadays information becomes the most valuable resource, on the one hand, the amount of information is growing quickly, and on the other hand, it is hard to obtain the effective information. How to process scientifically and make use of the huge amount of information, how to acquire effectively, store and organize the personal information, how to find quickly the necessary information, how to protect their information privacy etc, all of these problems have become increasingly important and urgent, the disposition of which has a direct relationship with our life quality and work efficiency. Facing these problems has given rise to a new field of study-personal information management, which has become the focuses among the information management circles at home and abroad. The only way to solve the effectiveness of information resource is management, usually people utilize rarely certain methods and means to achieve the purpose of information management, while the effective management would need to use consciously specific means and methods. Therefore the personal information needs to be managed consciously, and needs to be managed by certain methods and tools. Contemporary college students as the main body of the social development need to manage effectively their personal information, good personal information management can improve the ability and efficiency of searching and obtaining information, college students can improve their own competitiveness by improving the ability of personal information management, so as to promoting the individual development in society. For this reason the study of personal information management of college students has an important significance.Personal information management is practical action about information management by person who is under certain circumstance, so its theoretical foundation shares some parts with information management principles and has its unique content as well. So this thesis introduces the theories of personal information management, the evolution and related fields of the personal information management, and some foreign personal information management systems. Studying of personal information management should focus on theory, but applying theory to real life and work is more important, which is one of goals of the thesis. This thesis is based on a large number of documents through the literature research, by questionnaire and qualitative analysis to analyze the present situation of college students’personal information management and the existing problems, putting forward the related suggestions in order to perfect their personal information management, which help them lay down their own personalized information management plan.This thesis is divided into six sections, each section is summarized as follows:The first section is an introduction, mainly on the background and significance of topics, research contents and innovation, the research literatures of personal information management both at home and abroad were reviewed in this thesis.Section II is the evolution and related fields of the personal information management, mainly elaborates the development history and the current research fields of personal information management in detail.Section III is the introduction of foreign personal information management cases, simply describes the current foreign advanced personal information management system, including the personal information space management system, the personal project planner system and the personal information retrieval and reuse system.Section IV is the study of the college students’personal information management practice, mainly introduces the research background, the preparation, release and analysis of the questionnaire.Section V is the existing problems and countermeasures of the college students’ personal information management practice, pointing out that college students’ personal information management problems through the present situation investigation and analysis and put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.Section VI concludes the thesis by making suggestions as well as envisaging the future research.
