| From the rise to the current popularity, the services provided by the Digital Library have beena considerable development. This article aims to build an evaluation system for the maturity ofdigital library services through the empirical research of the customer satisfaction, digital libraryhardware, software, cost control and other aspects. And by introduce the existing assessmentmethods of services maturity, with the combination of the inherent in the evaluation method ofdigital library services, obtained the weights which affect the digital library services maturity, toachieve the purpose of measuring the maturity of digital library services, in order to obtain thecountermeasures for enhancing China’s digital library services’ quality and level, providescientific and the theoretical basis.The first part is an overview of present situation and evaluation of the maturity of digitallibrary services. Mainly discusses two aspects: the first aspect is the related concept of thematurity of digital library services, and the second aspect is the analysis of the status of maturityevaluation of digital library services. The first aspect discusses the concepts of digital library andits services; the concepts and evolution of the maturity of the digital services; the situation ofservice evaluation. The second aspect studies the status of the evaluation of digital libraryservices of domestic and international.The second part aims to build the evaluation system of measuring the maturity digital libraryservices. This section includes the basis of building the maturity evaluation system of digitallibrary services, the principle of building the evaluation system, building processes as well as thevalidity of the evaluation system evaluation and empirical analysis. This evaluation system refersto the relevant indicators covered by the Library Online Reference Services and relevantindicators of Collection Services, the indicators of service maturity in Accenture E-governmentEvaluation, and also refers to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, etc. In this part, theresearch picks and chooses the service maturity indicators for a reasonable blend from thestandards above. In the section of evaluation principle, following the guiding ideology to gofrom practice to practice, try to build a practical, concise, science, and localization of theevaluation system. The third aspect is the build of service maturity evaluation system, and anempirical study of the index. The research uses the Questionnaire Survey Method, the AnalyticHierarchy Process (AHP), Statistical Analysis,D-S Evidence Theory and other methods, todetermine the index weight, then get the evaluation findings; disprove the validity of thisevaluation system based on evaluation results and the evaluation process.The third part elaborates the role of digital library services maturity assessment system. Thispart described the significance of system building and empirical research and put forwardsuggestions. The theme of this part is also the purpose of this article. For promoting our digital library services having a wider development process, we should build the high quality resourcesdatabase,know and give the users what they want, focus on costs and benefits to achieve thematurity of the library development, and expand the special services to establish a library brand,as well as concern about the copyright protection and harmonious development of the publicinterests.The forth part is the conclusion of this article. First, summarize the review of the direction ofthis research and recall the ways and means used in the study. Next,find the inadequacies in thestudy. And then, propose future research prospects of more mature development of digital libraryservices. |
