Academic Digital Library Construction Evaluation: Measures And Approaches

Academic digital library construction evaluation study is a relatively new field of study,theoretical research is comparatively weak,the practice is also in its infancy and exploration stage,this thesis mainly to solve the problems include:(1) Through literature research and study history,the understanding of the diversity of the digital library,as well as digital library architecture,technically factor of the way to achieve still in the development.The digital library evaluation lack of well-rounded research production and mature complete system for practice at home and abroad,this thesis focused on the object of hybrid libraries,took the current objectives,functions of the academic library as background,combined with the theoretical aspects of research of the digital library evaluation in recent years,put forward evaluation model and goals of academic digital library construction evaluation.(2) Through review norms,standards and practice related to academic digital library construction evaluation at home and abroad,on the basis of investigation and study on the digital library evaluation at home and abroad,for status quo of the academic digital library construction,using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis method,with methods and indicators for the traditional library evaluation system as a reference coordinates,put forward a comprehensive evaluation index system of digital library facilities and services for hybrid library.The reference index system meet the management evaluation,user evaluation,self- evaluation,and other demand;under the framework of evaluation index system,users can choice indicators,stipulate measure,constitute evaluation model and implementation guidelines for proper motion,consistent with their own specific objectives and needs evaluation index system.(3) Through choosing six academic digital libraries to simulate evaluation,educed evaluation conclusion,presented findings and recommendations,try to put forward a generally applicable method for academic digital library construction evaluation.Library in dire need of digital library construction services evaluation,the results of research on this applied to the hybrid library construction,for traditional library's digital collection construction and services,along with further construct digital library by the foundation of the entity library,to provide reference criterion and bases as comprehensive as possible.Chapter 1 of this article introduced the background,research foundation,content, significance and research methods;Chapter 2 introduced basic issues of the academic digital library construction evaluation;Chapter 3 introduced the status quo of the academic digital library construction evaluation;Chapter 4 introduced norms,standards,practice related to academic digital library construction evaluation;Chapter 5 introduced model and objectives of the academic digital library construction evaluation;Chapter 6 introduced academic digital library construction evaluation index system;Chapter 7 introduced academic digital library construction evaluation example and analysis;Chapter 8 summed up the innovation of this study,the main research results,existent problems and the aspects where need further research.
