Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) could be the information technology platform, serviced all activities in the product process for the core business of manufacturing companies. It is the management information system, between the upper ground plan management system and industrial control shop floor to help enterprises to be real-time, efficient, accurate, reliable to control and manage quality and product process, effective to collect the information in the production process and logistics operation, to track and manage whole process flow of movement in the object’s life cycle, enabling enterprises to realize the tracking and monitoring of the product, product quality traceability, production management, site management and quality objectives. It is a new workshop information management system.On this background, this paper is base on studying on manufacturing execution systems technology and the features of ATM manufacture company, The system architecture of product process monitoring and traceability base on MES is proposed, and various functional module analysis, design and implementation are completed. The main research contents are as fellows:First researching background, source and destination are elaborated, and the domestic and international research and application of MES status are explored; Secondly introduce comprehensively the nature of MES and the basic content. With a status of ATM manufacturing company, the problems are figured out, especially the challenge of process monitoring on the product. Thirdly, on the basis of further research on the manufacturing industry information of the ATM architecture and MES, information system is proposed to be built the entire process of monitoring and traceability, to make the life cycle of ATM products to be monitored and realize product control and traceability-including of monitoring and traceability on raw materials and supplier information, the whole production process (including production staff, tooling equipment and technology), and maintenance services, but also to make the enterprise information technology become reality; Finally, analysis the system implementation and effect, summarizes the paper work, and future research directions are discussed.
