The manufacturing industry is an important pillar industry in our national economy, which occupies a central position in the secondary industry. The workshop is the basic tache of a manufacturing enterprise, which is the connection of management and manufacturing of the enterprise and it is the joint of the information streams and logistics as well. It is an urgent task for Chinese manufacturing industries that how to enhance their competitiveness by employing information technology to effectively apply modern management ideas into production organization.Manufacturing Execution System, which is the tache connecting the upper layer of planning management system and the bottom layer of process controlling system, can improve the capability of monitor and management of enterprises. This thesis regards the production process of the manufacturing's workshop as its studying focus. It researches the key techniques of MES and its application in the spinning enterprise. The main contents are listed as follows:Firstly, it analyses various views of Bill of Material (including Engineering Bill of Material, Planning Bill of Material, Manufacturing Bill of Material, Cost Bill of Material, Buying Bill of Material, Quality Bill of Material and so on) and their correlativity in Manufacturing Execution System. This thesis develops the mechanism of multi-BOM mapping based on Planning BOM and advances the applied methods of manufacturing information which based on multi-BOM system about report forms designing and quality controlling.Secondly, it studies the problem of describing the material process state, and establishes a describing model of material process state which based on hex and adopts the arithmetic of the number n working procedure. This paper puts forward the method of describing the material position state by importing physical bits and logical bits.Thirdly, it analyses the sorts, characteristics of scheduling problems in workshop and the factors which affect manufacturing schedule. It also puts forward the static scheduling model based on ants arithmetic and the dynamic scheduling model based on instances by summarizing the existing describing methods of scheduling. Both models are based on analyzing the scheduling environment.At last, aiming at the status quo of workshop production management in the No.1 Sub Factory of Tianjin Hi-tech Spinning Industrial Area, it constructs the spinning enterprise-oriented MES. As having been proved, MES plays a major role in workshop management.
