With the rapid economic development, there is a growing demand for skilled talents in society and businesses. Therefore arises the discussion of Vocational Education Teaching Model. During the discussion, the“work-integrated learning" training model has become the hot topic in the reform of vocational education in China. "work-integrated learning" is defined as a teaching model that combines work and study so as to cultivate vocational skills of students. As an important feature in modern vocational education, it plays a very important role in teaching process. In order to better achieve the "learning during doing, learning by doing" effect, case method is introduced under the "work-integrated learning" mode. Through the selection and analysis of cases, learning situation is designed to allow students to learn and practice in the cases environment. That will help students combine learning and working, thereby enhancing their professional quality.Case situation teaching is the further interpretation of“work-integrated learning", more suitable for the current vocational education methods. In this paper, the case situation design is studied. First, the concept, development and the role in vocational education of“work-integrated learning" are introduced. Second, theories relating to case situation design are mainly studied, including method and content of learning situation design, carrier selection of building the required learning situation, student task design in learning situation, assessment standards for student tasks, which provides a theoretical basis for the case situation design. Then, taking actual teaching into consideration, application of case situation design in the curriculum“UML basis”is expounded. Cases are selected according to the characteristics of the courses; learning tasks are analyzed; process-driven cases are designed, and problems in the case teaching situation arose in the implementation process are analyzed and measures are put forward. In order to let software select cases systematically and automatically, case situation teaching system is conceived and studied. Workflow technology is used to build situation node, and in each node learning tasks, homework, reference materials, experiments of related courses are introduced. Technologies adopted include workflow technology, Struts framework mode and B / S model, and their application in system, which are introduced in detail. Finally, the system is realized, including the Web interface and key codes in workflow technology.
