Industrial CT (ICT), is composed of many subjects, such as automation,communication engineering, mechanical engineering, optoelectronic technology andimage processing, etc. ICT is also named Computer Tomography technology (the besttesting technology at present), which applies to industrial products for non-destructivetesting. With the development of the latest technology in the industrial filed, IndustrialCT is put forward higher requirements, especially for the real-time transmission and thespeed of transmission.The trend of Industrial CT at the moment is towards a more detectors, longertransmission distance and more data look. The industrial CT high-speed datatransmission system is designed according to the practical engineering requirements.Ethernet is used to meet the requirement of high-speed and long-distance transmission,which has an advantage in speed and distance of transmission. FPGA is the best choicefor data processing, having an advantage in higher processing-efficiency,general-purpose and block-based design. Presently, single chip microcomputer or ARMis mostly used to connect the Ethernet controller chip and FPGA. In comparison, it willadd the cost of system, slowdown the speed of start-up, and waste system resources.There are two different protocols of Ethernet transport layer, TCP protocol andUDP protocol. In comparison, UDP protocol has an advantage in simple protocol,higher speed and real-time transmission. So, the SOPC is transplanted to FPGA thatconnects with the Ethernet controlling chip directly. The data transmission isaccomplished by programming in FPGA. The FPGA chip uses EP1C6T144C8ofcyclone I produced by Altera, and the Ethernet controller chip uses LXT972producedby Intel, providing10/100M choice mode, and supporting MII interface.The design scheme of system contains hardware circuit design and program design.The former is completed by Protel DXP software tool, and the latter accomplish notonly compiling, integration and simulation for codes, along with the data protocolencapsulation and transmission, but also the network application design based onwindows socket.The system completely takes respective advantages of FPGA chip and UDPprotocol, and shows good performace of high integration and high anti interference andso on.
