Background and objective: Sci-tech journal is an important part ofscientific enterprise. Its level of development not only embodies a country’stechnological development, but also is an important mark to measure the sciencetechnology and economic cultural level of a country. It plays an important rolein the implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating China through sciencetechnology. Consequently, how to scientifically assess sci-tech journals as wellas improve the overall level of running journals and manuscript quality havealways been a great concern to universities, the library and informationinstitutions, experts and scholars. The analyses of bibliometric indicators of theChinese Journal of Neuroanatomy were evaluated objectively its quality ofarticles and academic status using bibliometrics method from2000to2010, andto provide theoretical basis for the further development of Chin J Neuroanat.Methods: The analysis of papers published in58issues (during16-26volume) of Chin J Neuroanat by bibliometric, numerical statistical and synthesismethods from2000to2010, and including the paper amount, fund situation,authors, citations and other indicators. All the data were processed by statistical software SPSS13.0and using different charts in order to show the data moreintuitively.Results: Chin J Neuroanat published was a total number of1331articlesduring2000to2010, averaging23.08articles for every issue. The amount levelwas moderate, but the proportion of fund project papers was generally highercompared to other journals, averaging71.55%; co-authored papers accounts for94.37%, co-author’s level being4.52, cooperation proportion was99.05%withauthors covering31provinces, cities and autonomous region, among whichShaanxi province, Beijing, and Jiangsu province were the main output place.The number of main authors who published more than3articles were54with atotal paper number205, accounting for15.40%. Of the1331articles, totalcitation adds up to the number of21549, with average quotation quantity being17.17items, single article citation up to89items. Chinese citation accounted for12.06%, english citation accounted for87.94%, the number of cited papers was887, accounting for66.64%, total citation being4,180, each article averagelywas cited3.14times, with the highest604times, which happened in2000.Conclusion: The results show that the influence of Chin J Neuroanat hadbeen steadily increasing during2000to2010, and the higher academic statushas become one of the most important journals in the neural anatomy field ofChina.
