Statistical Analysis On Article Published,Citation And Author Of Chinese Journal Of Digestive Surgery From2002to2011

Science and technology journals directly reflect the level of national science and technology output, which take irreplaceable affect in science and technology activities; they are important tools for scientific and technical exchange. It has been highly concerned about how to improve level of scientific and technical journals and papers’ quality in our country, as well as how to scientifically evaluate the quality of scientific journals. In this paper, there were statistical analysis on article published, citation and author of Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery from2002to2011.ObjectiveFrom the point of articles and authors to evaluate the academic level and influence of Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery. It will help readers to understand much better and more comprehensive of the subject of intelligence source distribution, academic level and quality of paper, to meet the professional requirements for information exchange and subject cooperation, and do some meaningful exploration on evaluation of medical journals. Materials and MethodsThe material source was a total of1751papers in60periods, which published on Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery from2002to2011(excluding the meeting minutes, messages, enlightenment, to the author, notice, advertisement, files, etc.). Statistical objects was the first author, without the thesis which didn’t belong to any author or units.Retrieved the data about articles, citation and authors of Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery from2002to2011by using Wanfang database, China National Knowledge Internet database, browsed the full text and saved, input in Excel table and analyzed them in terms of literature, numerical statistical method, comprehensive induction, logical reasoning, comparison and analysis, Bibliometric, etc.Results1. Impact factor had been rising stably, fastest growing in2007, rose from0.618to0.943, breakthroughed1in2009, reached the maximum value of1.071.2. There were1751articles in Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery during the past10years and the average number of articles per issue was29.18; Percentage of fund papers grew from10.06%in2002to62.65%in2011, average was27.23%of ten years. The citation rate was56.03%, immediacy index2.59, which in2006reached a maximum value of5.06.3. The authors came from31provinces, Hong Kong and America, Japan, Korea. According to the distribution of province, Chongqing was the first rank with429papers (24.50%), the second was Beijing with220papers (12.56%), and Shanghai was the third with182papers (10.39%). The next was Sichuan, Jiangsu and Guangdong. The others included3authors came from America,1from Japan and1from Korea.4. The number of papers from affiliated hospital was1263(72.13%). Paper productivity was higher. 5. The citation amount was larger, accounting for92.18%, the average citation rate was7.30. Languages of citation were given priority to foreign languages, accounting for65.42%, including7in Japanese and the rest in English. The proportion of references in Chinese and English in recent five years had been rising year by year, the literature cited rate was the lowest, Price Index was65.38%.6. The Coauthor rate was90.52%, the cooperation rate was4.35. the maximum of Co-authored was up to20people, co-authored papers of multi-unit accounted to30.84%.7. There were1751articles published from1363author, the authors who published one article were1034, accounted for75.86%, the authors published more than2articles were195, accounted for14.30%, the authors with over5papers were12, accounted for0.88%. The units which published more than15papers were18, accounting to the total number of42.49%, while the most in the Southwest Hospital of Third Military Medical University, a total of250papers.ConclusionImpact Factor of Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery has been steady rising since it was founded in2002, ratio of fund papers increased, authors’source is general, Co-operation makes the main form of subject research, attaches great importance to the high quality scientific research reports, has a high-level of authors group. Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery is an academic journal of high quality, which has very strong social influence. Its authors distribution range is wide, cooperation rate is high, but the overall distribution is imbalance, citation requirement need to be further improved, high-yield authors has not yet formed.
