| Background:Scientific journal is an important part of the science and technology. Since its emergence, the scientific journal plays an important role in the dissemination of culture and inheritance of civilization. In recent years, with the vigorous development of the nursing profession and raising the level of the professional paramedics, the number and the quality of nursing journals is increasing continuously. Journal of Qilu Nursing, as one of the important part, provides an academic communication platform to the nursing technicians from all the country especially from our province.. It plays an important role in the dissemination of the nursing scientific and technological achievements and in the guidance for clinical applications. Journal of Qilu Nursing is founded in1995. Since then it’s growing with the continuous developing of scientific and technological undertaking. In July2010, it is changed to tri-monthly from semimonthly. However, so far there is no analysis of the published papers with the bibliometric methods.Objective:Applied the methods of bibliographic calculation, the bibliometric indices of Journal of Qilu Nursing during the years2009-2011are gathered and analyzed. The evaluation of these indices and the academic level of the papers could supply an objective basis for the rapid development of the journal.Materials and Methods:The literature analysis, numerical statistics and comprehensive induction are applied in the statistical analysis of Journal of Qilu Nursing between2009and2011. The analysis contains the amount of papers, papers funded, distribution of the authors, reference analysis, citation analysis and the comparative analysis with other similar periodicals. Results:During the years2009-2011, a rapid developing trend of Journal of Qilu Nursing is shown. In2009, the journal is included into China’s science and technology core journals by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The authors spread31provinces. The amount and impact factor of the funded papers is continuously increased. It becomes an important platform of the dissemination of research results for the paramedics from all the country especially from our province. Since the journal is included into the core journals and changed July from bi-monthly to tri-monthly in July2010, the amount of the tapers is further increased. However, compared with the other similar outstanding periodicals, the contradiction excessive papers is prominent.Conclusion and suggestion:The data analysis shows that Journal of Qilu Nursing developed rapidly during2009-2011. However, there are some problems appeared such as large amount of published papers, low cooperation rate and coauthor rate and so on. If these problems are not resolved in time, they would become the bottlenecks of the journal development. Therefore, in order to keep the journal growth enduring stable, there must be a long-term planning, the amount of published papers has to be reduced, and the quality of the journal should be further improved. |
