In this paper,the automation and information management of irrigation has beenstudied combined the existing irrigation management methods.The flow calculationmethods of Parshall flume has beed studied based on the knowledge of the OpenChannel flow kinematics and proposed the theoretical formula.Through theexperiment,tested the validity of the theoretical formula.We studied the Parshall flumethroat width,geometric size,installation method and flow characteristics impact on OpenChannel flow.We research the relationship between upstream and downstream waterlevel and flow changes in the process of Parshall flume measurement.We derived theformula flow in the above two different cases.In this paper,we research and make up the automation management system ofirrigation district.Learning the development,features and data transfer protocol ofGPRS,it to be a mobile network based on GSM network,and reliability,transmission rateand using the cost of GPRS network is better than GSM network.Based on a profoundunderstanding of GPRS network,we proposed the framework of Open Channel flowmeasurement system.We focused on the GPRS wireless transmission module,OpenChannel flow meter and the control and video surveillance system of irrigation gate.Thecommunication module is Beijing JieMai G200Series GPRS module and researchingmodule hardware installation methods,work parameters setting and software to run theprocess.According to the actual situation of irrigation using WL-1A Open ChannelFlowmeter,we design the solution of Open Channel Flow Meter WL-1A used inconjunction with Parshall flume flow measurement.Gate control and video surveillancesystem is an important part of the irrigation management system.It is an importantresearch paper that research and design of the gate system.We select gate hardwareinclding electric transmission,power,safety devices and draw the connection diagram ofeach part of the hardware.Gate control and video surveillance system can be remotelycontrolled and monitored.This can reduce maintenance time,improve system efficiencyand saving labor.Software design of system is an important part of this article.This mainly refers tothe host computer software design.The programs of host computer software write usingVisual Basic6.0,including the host computer serial port communication,automatic dataacquisition,remote field devices and historical data query.Serial port is communication port of data collection and field equipment remote and it can access the data on theGPRS network.We use MSComm control to operate the serial.Historical data query usethe database to achieve.Host computer software can achieve data acquisition,datadisplay,report printing and other function.Water users use the Internet check water andirrigation time.Irrigation turn towards a more transparent,more intuitive,more efficienttrend.
