In this paper,the automation and information management of irrigation has been studied combined the existing irrigation management methods.The flow calculation methods of Parshall flume has beed studied based on the knowledge of the Open Channel flow kinematics and proposed the theoretical formula.Through the experiment,tested the validity of the theoretical formula.We studied the Parshall flume throat width,geometric size,installation method and flow characteristics impact on Open Channel flow.We research the relationship between upstream and downstream water level and flow changes in the process of Parshall flume measurement.We derived the formula flow in the above two different cases.In this paper,we research and make up the automation management system of irrigation district.Learning the development,features and data transfer protocol of GPRS,it to be a mobile network based on GSM network,and reliability,transmission rate and using the cost of GPRS network is better than GSM network.Based on a profound understanding of GPRS network,we proposed the framework of Open Channel flow measurement system.We focused on the GPRS wireless transmission module,Open Channel flow meter and the control and video surveillance system of irrigation gate.The communication module is Beijing JieMai G200 Series GPRS module and researching module hardware installation methods,work parameters setting and software to run the process.According to the actual situation of irrigation using WL-1A Open Channel Flowmeter,we design the solution of Open Channel Flow Meter WL-1A used in conjunction with Parshall flume flow measurement.Gate control and video surveillance system is an important part of the irrigation management system.It is an important research paper that research and design of the gate system.We select gate hardware inclding electric transmission,power,safety devices and draw the connection diagram of each part of the hardware.Gate control and video surveillance system can be remotely controlled and monitored.This can reduce maintenance time,improve system efficiency and saving labor.Software design of system is an important part of this article.This mainly refers to the host computer software design.The programs of host computer software write using Visual Basic6.0,including the host computer serial port communication,automatic data acquisition,remote field devices and historical data query.Serial port is communication port of data collection and field equipment remote and it can access the data on the GPRS network.We use MSComm control to operate the serial.Historical data query use the database to achieve.Host computer software can achieve data acquisition,data display,report printing and other function.Water users use the Internet check water and irrigation time.Irrigation turn towards a more transparent,more intuitive,more efficient trend.
