China is a water-poor country, and China's per capita use of water is only a quarter of the world average. The situation is exacerbated by our extensive type agriculture with an enormous waste of precious water resources. As the rise of information technology and the introduction of the Internet of Objects, water-saving irrigation technology has undergone a rapid development last century.Experts and scholars around the world have been working hard through this problem. By using all kinds of irrigation algorithms and computer technology developed countries have successfully made water-saving irrigation devices, and realized automated management of water resources to reduced water waste greatly.Because of the advantages of Internet of things, we apply it in wireless irrigating control system. This article introduces mainly the design of hardware and software. Hardware contains the WSN transmitting circuit and the periphery control circuit. Software is consist of the router and coordinator software. The system realized Real-Time soil moisture monitoring, open and close valve automatically, upload information of irrigated area, calculating water consumption, display net topological structure, setting up thresholds and fixing connecting problems automatically. The stability of the network system was tested by antenna height experiment, point to point communication experiment, multi-hop network experiment as well as the continuing running test. All those experiments operated in the 100 mu experimental farm of Beijing forestry university at Qian Lingou village, Changping district Beijing. Results show that:the network transmission system is reliable and can cover the whole irrigated area; the control system composed of sensors and solenoid valve is able to monitor soil moisture sufficiently. With the carefully designed irrigation strategy according to different plants, our system can stabilize this irrigated area's soil moisture around the most suitable range for vegetation growth. The system can meet water demand of plants as well as achieve the purpose of water saving with precise irrigating.
