Shortage of water resources has been becoming a global problem and saving water has been one of the hottest topics. Countries all over the world gradually take kinds of measures such as reconstructing water-saving irrigation project, reforming irrigation manage system to save water. Sprinkle irrigation and trickle irrigation has become the most popular water-saving irrigation method at present.Automatic control irrigation system adopting sensor technique which is used to supervise soil water content and plant physiological status, will become a intelligent irrigation system. That is of great benefit to raise the use efficiency of water, and also good for growth of plant. The main contents and conclusions of this study are as following:1. After contrasting domestic with abroad water-saving irrigation techniques, this article put forward aauto control system for greenbelt water-saving irrigation.2. It made a general design of the system conforming to the design principle of this system, sush as system composition and network structure.3. The author designed and carried out an irrigation monitor and a valve controller using single chip technology. And he developed supervision software with Visual Basic program language.4. Considering the characteristics of greenbelt soil, this study developed a dual mode control arithmetic which combined the switch control with the fuzzy logic control.5. The results of series of system tests on the greenbelt which lies before the mainbuilding of Beijing forestry university showed that the system could be used for irrigating the greenbelt and monitoring soil water content. And it could realize the purpose of saving water in a condition of having some appro- priate control parameters.Anyway, this study independently developed the whole water-saving irrigation automatic control system. It can irrigate precisely according to the vegetation species, soil type and hypsography variation of given greenbelt by soil moisture content and calculated irrigation requirement. And it provides a convenient approach for setting some appropriate control parameters by customer to realize the purpose of precise irrigation.
