As a field programmable integrated circuit, FPGA has a lot of logic resources, clock management resources, memory resources and digital signal processing resources. Developers could do some bottom design of FPGA by coding with hardware languages, which provides plenty of opportunity to optimize circuit speed and area. So, FPGA resources utilization is very high. FPGA is appropriate for the design of audio/video circuit whose data for processing is very large and the clock frequency is high. Based on the above advantages, this thesis implements an audio/video interface circuit whith a FPGA as it controller. The circuit board is composed of FPGA control block and interface circuit blocks.First, this thesis introduces the development course, character and basic category of audio/video interfaces in the audio/video equipment. It mainly analyzes the basic functions, principles and transmission modes of HDMI audio/video transmission standard, VGA video transmission standard, SPDIF audio transmission standard, RCA transmission interface and TRS audio transmission interface.Then, this thesis divides the whole circuit into several basic modules accoding to the different functions and descripts them in detail separately. It mainly introduces the control function and external circuits of FPGA control module, the ESD protection circuit and interface circuit of HDMI transmitter module, the mode selection and interface circuit of VGA transmitter module, the working mode and interface circuit of SPDIF receiver module, the power supply circuit and interface circuit of RCA and TRS modules.And then, this thesis descripts the logic design in detail which includes the pixel interleaving and I2C logic configuration based on FPGA and audio signal gating based on CPLD. The I2C configuration implements an I2C master control module to configure the internal registers and transmission information of the slave device.At last, the thesis introduces the result of the circuit design and logic design. There are digital and analog audio/video signals transmitting on the board. This thesis supports I2S-24bits two-channel audio signals and 1080p@60Hz RGB video signals.
