Evolvable Hardware (EHW) technic has attracted many attention from it was born. By simulating the process of organic evolution in nature, EHW can adapt, evolve and repair by itself. So EHW is a kind of very important technology in the filed of artificial intelligence, aerospace industry, electronic technique and so on. Analog Evolvable Circuit (AEC) is one of the most important parts of EHW.In this project, we study AEC based on the frame of the second generation Field Programmable Transistor Array (FPTA-2) which was designed by NASA. We research AEC from three sides as following:1. Designe a new kind of AEC platform which is based on the DSP of TMS320LF2407A and CPLD. The schematic and PCB board were designd, and hardware boards were manufactured. Analyze the structure of FPTA-2, and manufacture the hardware board. Accomplish the debugging of FPTA-2 and AEC platform which have been manufactured.2. Proposes the use of Quantum-inspired Evolutionary Algorithm (QEA) in AEC. Nowadays, Simple Genetic Algorithm (SGA) and HereBoy algorithm are widely used in the research of AEC, but they all have some weakness. The use of QEA in the research of AEC is presented in this paper. The circuits of amplifier, full-wave rectifier and half-wave rectifier were evolved on the platform which has been designed, the evolutionary performances are demonstrated. Results show that QEA can get better evolutionary results than HereBoy algorithm and SGA.3. Research multicellular AEC. Design the connection between cells for the evolution of NAND circuit and filter. Compare the evolving results between single cell and multi-cell. Results show that the structure of multi-cell can improve the circuit function for AEC.
