Evolvable hardware is based on the ideal of reconfigurable hardware and evolutionary algorithms. It has the features of self-configuration, self-adaptation and self-repairing. It works when the electronic instruments need to work for a long time, or the environment is bad, or workers cannot provide maintenance in time. Evolvable hardware has wide future prospects.Firstly, the concept and principle of analog evolvable hardware is depicted in this paper, and the evaluation and realization methods are discussed. Hereboy evolutionary algorithm based on mutation of single chromosome is used to realize circuit evolution, and VB is used to realize evolution control process. The circuit simulation is achieved in PSpice. The user interface is improved and it can display the best output waves of the evolved circuit directly. Secondly, integral circuits and D latch circuits are realized on this platform, and it gets good results. Thirdly, amplifiers evolution based on square error is performed, and the method of amplifiers evaluation is improved. Evaluation based on multi-parameter makes algorithm convergence and evolution process faster. The size and cost of circuit is limited and multi-objective evolution improves the practicability of circuits. Fourthly, low-pass filter is evolved based on sampling points at each frequency band and decrement, and the results are good. And the last, the evaluation method of fault-tolerance is adjusted, and research on tolerance of FPTA2 is carried on. The results show that single FPTA2 circuit has strong fault-tolerance for few transistors.
