The project management is an item of quite complex systems engineering, its implementation process will be subject to many contents and the influence of various factors. One of the performance of the final outcome is whether the project can be completed on time in the specified work period. Duration is the external manifestation of the progress of the project, in project management, project schedule management is one of most important elements of project management. Implementation of the construction scheduling of the project not only has the direct impacts on the delivered on time in terms of the contract period, but also on the follow-up comprehensive economic objectives of the entire construction project investment activities and good results. Under the guide of a good schedule planning, project can be finished on time in a high probability, and then the company would be able to acquire more profits. Otherwise, the project would face the postponement or even overspend, which means facing penalty with contract—breaking even losing more customers.Precisely, because of a large number of uncertainties in the process of project implementation and these uncertainties have a larger impacts on the project’s progress, making progress goals fuzzy, and may eventually lead to project delays in the supply chain, resulting in huge wasted in human, material and financial resources.Access to a large number of related documents on the basis of the progress of the project management methods, this paper makes comparative analysis in detail and points out some deficiencies existing in respectively, and also on this basis, puts forward the forefront progress of the project management of critical chain management methods.Critical chain management is a rising scheduling and planning method in modern project management. This method makes the project practical duration less than before and early completion which will improve the work efficiency. Critical Chain management which is a new project schedule management based on the theory of constraints, it focuses on the integrity of the project, especially the resource constraints of the project and analysis of human behavior on the progress of the project, and monitors the project scheduling according to the buffering. This paper is on the basis of previous research with some of the progress of the project management principles and methods used in problem analysis. With made calculations of the critical chain scheduling process duration, the calculations of the buffer size and optimization problems in single resources constraints, put forwards Critical Chain management approach based on fuzzy theory. This method uses the fuzzy language of fuzzy theory to represent the process duration, then with the converted function, it turns into the corresponding trapezoidal fuzzy number. As based on, it could calculate the most likely duration and safety time. And the most likely duration of processes are used to make the project schedule, so you can find Critical Chain with considering the resource-constrained situation. With the basis of safety time Calculated, we can calculate the project buffer and feeding buffer size in order to provide a basis for the whole duration of the project. Finally, with the buffer management mechanism, we could dynamically monitor the implementation of the progress of the project, so that we can ensure that the project is completed on time.
