Objective:In recent years, with the development of social economy and the enhancement of humanactivities, the ecological environment is deteriorating and all kinds of public emergencies occurfrequently, which brings great threat to safety of people’s lives and property. So it is necessarythat we have the ability to deal with disaster to prevent or mitigate. At present, China’s disasternursing education lags far behind, nurses as the rescuer is difficult to play important role facingthe emergencies, and community residents don’t know how to do self-aid and mutual-aid. Thispaper investigates the nurses and community residents’ Coping ability to public emergencies, and training method, so as to improve their ability of disaster prevention and reduction.Method:First, we use content analysis method, retrieving and reading lots of reference aboutemergency coping method by nurses and community residents, and put forward the problems inthis field; then we use Questionnaire survey to nurses and city residents, and determinedisasters care training content via Delphi-method; and last we use SPSS17.0to execute X2testand the correlation analysis of training results to nurses and community residents separately.Result:1.Investigation results of nurses’ coping ability to emergencies(1) Total awareness of disaster nursing theory knowledge of nurse is32%before trainingand51.7%after training; operation master rate is41.5%before training and58.9%aftertraining, it is statistically significant (p <0.05) for Compare before and after the training.(2) We found that the nurses lack of coping ability to public emergencies. They are good atclinical medical knowledge and basic operation, but bad at public health, prevent medical, psychological, management knowledge and specialized nursing.(3) We selected20nurses whose score were highest as the follow-up training objects, andDetermined that the best disaster rescue team should be composed by the people whose age isbetween21and40, degree is bachelor or above, title is at least junior, and working experienceis in the emergency room or critical care (ICU) for10to20years.2.Investigation results of community residents’ coping ability to emergencies(1) The community residents lack the coping abilities to public emergencies, and can beimproved via training. Awareness rate of first aid knowledge is11.1%before training and65.9%after training; it is statistically significant (p <0.05) for Compare before and after thetraining. (2) The first group of community residents used release notes, operation demonstration fortraining. Through examination and investigation, we found that the immediate master rate of1stgroup after training is the lowest (47.3%). The third group of community residents used releasenotes, multimedia, operation demonstration, disaster scene simulation for training. Throughexamination and investigation we found that the immediate master rate of3rd group aftertraining is the highest (67.6%).(3) We used partial correlation analysis to deal with the score of community residents atimmediately after the training, a month after training, and6months after training. The resultshows that training effect has certain correlation with age, education, training time interval, training mode.Conclusion:1. This paper investigated the hospital nurses’ coping ability to public emergencies, andtrained them. The result shows that the coping ability is grate improved after training. Based oninvestigation result, we designed systematic education training plan, in order to providereference for building a professional disaster rescue nurse team.2. This paper investigated the community residents’ coping ability to public emergencies, and trained them; the result shows that the coping ability is grate improved after training. Thecommunity residents lacks of training time because of going to work or going to school. Tomake them obtain the best training effect in the short time, we should work out a suitabletraining mode. Based on investigation result, we designed systematic education training plan, inorder to improve the coping ability of community residents to public emergencies, reduce theharm of disaster.
