Clinical Study Of Gushibao Capsule On Primary Osteoporosis

Objective: Under the guidance of my tutor, Professor Wang Jinbang,through the observation of improvment that Gushibao capsule has on theclinical symptoms, the biochemical index of bone metabolism and bonedensity of primary osteoporosis patients, this paper studied the efficacy andsafety of Gushibao capsule for primary osteoporosis, discussed the mechanismof Gushibao capsule, summarized the pathogenesis of primary osteoporosisand provides theoretical basis for TCM treatment on primary osteoporosis andeffective medicine.Methods: Strictly according to the diagnostic criteria forprimary osteoporosis, select90patients with primary osteoporosis (men orwomen), randomly and averagely divide them into treatment group, controlgroup1and control group2. Patients in treatment group is treated withGushibao capsule,6pills,3times a day; patients in control group1is treatedwith Xianling Gushibao capsule,3pills,2times a day; patients in controlgroup2is treated with calcium carbonate D3,1pill,1time a day;3groups aretreated with pills for3months, and3months later, stop taking medicines.Select bone density values, clinical efficacy, the biochemical index of bonemetabolism and safety index as object of observation, compare the scoreswithin and between groups, and finally draw the conclusion after statisticalanalysis.Results:1.During and after the treatment, all of the patients’ blood, urine, stoolroutine, liver and kidney function and electrocardiogram examination arenormal; there are2patients in the control group2who occasionally has mildsymptoms of constipation after medication; no other adverse reactions.2.Changes of bone density values: comparison within the3groups, bonedensity of the lumbar L2-4improved than before, and there are apparent difference before and after the treatment, P<0.05; comparison between the3groups, treatment groups is better than control groups in improving bonedensity, apparent difference, P<0.01.3.Comparison of TCM symptoms: after3months, in treatment groupthere are19obviously effective cases,9effective cases and2invalid cases,with the total efficiency93.33%; comparison between the three groups, thereare apparent difference, P<0.01, treatment group is better than control groupsin improving clinical efficacy.4.Comparison of the biochemical index of bone metabolism aftertreatment: the biochemical index of bone metabolism of the3groups has allchanged. The treatment group is better than the control groups in improvingosteocalcin, phosphorus and serum alkaline phosphatase, apparent difference,P<0.05.Conclusion:1.Gushibao capsule can effectively improve clinical symptoms, regulatethe bone metabolism index, promote bone formation, and increase bonedensity. Besides, it is safe, reliable and worth clinical application.2.Kidney deficiency is the underlying reason of primary osteoporosis,bone collateral stasis and bone emptiness is the pathological basis of primaryosteoporosis. From the pathogenesis of “stagnation of collaterals due to thekidney deficiency”, using the method of reinforcing kidney, activating BloodCirculation and removing obstruction in the collaterals, this paper provides thetheoretical basis for TCM treatment on primary osteoporosis.
