Objective:TO study clinial therapeutic effects of acupuncture therapy on the patients with primary osteoporosis (POP), and the influence on the bone mass density (BMD),Calcium and Phosphonium in the blood.Methods:48 POP patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group, 24 cases in each group. The treatment group were treated by acupunture at Xuanzhong(double),Mingmen, Shenshu(double),once a day for three months. the control group were treated took capsule of Gusongbao, 1 capsules, t.i.d for three months. Changes of main symptoms, bone mass density,Calcium and Phosphonium in the blood and other indexes before and after treatment in the two groups were investigated. In the same time, the clinial therapeutic were evaluated.Results:1 All of the effective rates of two groups were 100, the excellent rates of two groups were 62.5% and 25%. The effect of acupuncture group was obviously better than others (P<0.01).2 The clinical symptom scores of two groups were all increased. Acupuncture group were better than herb group in releasing symptoms (P<0.05).3 BMD of two groups was increased. There are significant difference between acupuncture group and herb group (P<0.05).4 Ca in blood of two groups was increased..Acupuncture group were better than herb group (P<0.05). P in in blood of two groups was decreased. There are no significant difference between acupuncture group and herb group (P>0.05).Conclusion:1 Acupuncture therapy has notable effect on POP.2 Acupuncture therapy could regulates bone metabolism to increase BMD of POP.3 Acupuncture therapy could increase Ca in blood and decrease P in in blood to regulate bone metabolism.
