| With the rapid development of domestic urban track traffic, various construction projects are ongoing national wide. As growth of track traffic, citizen has higher standards and requirements for service date, as well as operation conditions to urban track traffic. However the project targets are difficult to accomplish as planned throughout the entire progress, due to influences of external factors and numerous possible risks. On the premise of ensuring quality and safety, how to implement civil engineering works on schedule and supply adequate time for subsequent events including MEC installation and equipment commissioning, which is a key issue of overall deadline control for track traffic project. Therefore, the study and analysis of progress management X(xintang) metro station, X(5th) line XX(Guangzhou) in this paper is significant.This article introduces the general information of X(xintang) metro station, X(5th) line XX(Guangzhou), summarizes common problems and presents aim contents on progress management of current civil engineering projects. Concepts, principles and methods of progress management are explicated, which provide theoretical supports for the successive research. Meanwhile risks and difficulties might confronted at different stages during progress management are analyzed.By discussion of the progress management in X metro station civil engineering project, countermeasure of progress management is summarized and analyzed. Firstly, difficulties and period of civil construction works should be considered carefully during design procedure, potential risks in various stages should be evaluated, also risk and progress control measures should be established. In the course of executing, according to actual situations, project schedule should be revised constantly, then use modified plan to guide the following constructions, through the continuously circulation to achieve the ultimate goal. Progress control of civil project have to carry out through the whole course, all involved staff have to participate, relationship of design, construction, supervisor, owner, supervision organization and the surrounding masses have to coordinate properly.
