In the wake of the raising of the living standard of the people, the need for the housing is more and more urgent. Therefore the real estate industry has developed rapidly in the recent years. The real estate industry needs high capital input. It needs high investment and long development period, so it may suffers high risk of lose. The project progress control in real estate industry involves architectural design, project approval procedure, constructing, supervisory, bidding, and house selling. It is affected by many factors such as national policies, natural, social as well as marketing environment so that the progress control in real estate industry is difficult in some aspects. How to overcome the difficulties raised by the factors mentioned above, how to insure the plan progressing on time, how to eliminate the lose risk and speed up the return of the investment, are the important task of progress control.In this paper, we study the problems in the progress control since the very beginning of the project of bid A of Tianjian Century Garden and made proposals to solve the main difficulties at the same time. The most important in this paper are the compiling, tracing, and the rectifying of the progress control program. We used many methods to fulfill our task. Besides, we discussed the factors that affect the progress of the project such as design management, bid management, capital management, human resources management, mode of dividing a bid, and the communication inside and outside the project etc.Through the analysis mentioned above, we proposed many effective improvement means such as "the weakest goes to the wall" for bid dividing mode; parallel bid dividing mode with clear work interface; human resources management by the integration means of each worker contracts to complete a fixed assignment for work, routine check-up system and worker training; meeting, feedback mechanism inside construction unit, joint trial and signing, meeting, and feedback mechanism for the whole project; the compiling of progress plan based on network plan technology; the means of tracking, carrying out and rectifying of progress based on scientific tool method and the integration of progress, quality, and cost control; design technology by making overall arrangement for construction technology and construction duration; construction management design based on carefully compiling and strictly carry out the plan; exact and in detail management of capital; income encouragement based on clear means of bonus-penalty; the management means for strictly carry out contract; the design management means for joint hearing of blue prints, and for the time needed of shorten or changing the producing of blue prints; and the bid management based on clear work interfaces and timely invite bid.The problems and the improvement means discussed in this paper are universal. They are helpful in project progress management of real estate industry.
