Research On Progress Management Of New Doha Port Project

There are a few differences between overseas port engineering projects and domestic ones,such as external factors and management modes,which are usually unable to be identified when Chinese construction enterprises works overseas.The companies used to apply domestic experience in scheduling plan which is lack of executable and reasonable progress control measures,therefore,it leads the project to serious delay.Based on the theories and methods of project time management,this dissertation studies on how the project external factors and management modes influence the progress of New Doha Port Project,and develops the associated responding measures,and provides the assurance for overseas port engineering project.This research has a great reference value for construction progress control in overseas engineering projects.The research content of this dissertation is focus on the project progress influenced by the external factors and management modes based on the background analysis of New Doha Port Project.Secondly,with the basis of theories and methods of project progress management,this dissertation adopts coping approaches to complete the progress plan following the three plan stages of breaking down work structure,structuring logical relationship,estimating activity duration and loading resources.In the issues of project progress control,this dissertation introduces the principles and processes of project progress control,and summarizes the methods of information collection,update and maintenance of progress plan,forecast of millstone,progress report and analysis of progress deviation.It finally presents the influences and corrective measures responding to the external factors and management modes with three cases of breakwater engineering,earth-rock engineering and quay wall structure engineering,and proposes corresponding assurance measures in overseas project progress management.
