The construction of Provincial geographic information public service platformapplication system is an important role of the platform foundation,and it is also theultimate goal of establishing the public platform.It is well known that publicplatform can provide the basic geographic information data services forgovernment departments, enterprises and the general public.The establishment ofapplocation system can achieve the resource sharing and improve the effectivenessof using geographic information resources which can also meet the needs ofdifferent users.Therefore, the construction of application systems is of greatsignificance, it is the inevitable trend of development of information age.ArcGISServer is ESRI’s newly developed WebGIS development platform, its advantagelies in the perfect combination of GIS technology and network technology, which isused to build centralized management, multiple users support, and with advancedfunctions of GIS applications and services,it has broad application prospects in thesecond development.This thesis studies the design and implementation of public service platformapplication system based on ArcGIS Server,and the main research and results are asfollows:(1) The construction background and significance of the geographicinformation public service platform application system is described in this thesis,as well as the status of research related applications at home and abroad.(2) The architecture of provincial geographic information public serviceplatform is studied in this thesis, as well as the construction program.(3) The architecture of ArcGIS Server is analyzed, the key technologies ofdeveloping advanced WebGIS services based on ArcGIS Server10and using thethree-tier B/S structure is also discussed.(4) Hefei bus information service system has been designed and developedbased on ArcGIS Server platform.The overall system design,databasedesign,functional modules design and interface design is introduced in detail basedon the needs analysis, and GIS functional modules are realized such as spatialquery and analysis.(5) The method of system implementation is introduced and the realizedfunctions are displayed separately.
