Research And Implementation Of Webgis Based On Flex And ArcGIS Server

WebGIS namely the World Wide Web geographic information system, is thegeographic information system running on the Internet, which is a new technology usingInternet to expand and improve the GIS. As Internet technology develops rapidly andGIS technology continues to mature, traditional WebGIS based on Web pages has notbeen able to meet the needs of people, against this background, RIA （Rich InternetApplication） gradually reached the stage of developing WebGIS, which made up for thedefect of traditional WebGIS which had single graphic interface, poor interaction and baduser experience, thus it became the current popular technology about implementation ofWebGIS. Flex is the earliest RIA application framework, which is one of most popularRIA technologies now, and ArcGIS Server as an enterprise solution can provide thecorresponding GIS services, which provides a theoretical foundation and technicalsupport for WebGIS scheme based on Flex and ArcGIS Server.Based on the analysis of domestic and international developing situation and thetrend of WebGIS technology, this paper uses Flex and ArcGIS Server to build a WebGISsystem platform which has beautiful interface and strong interaction. It firstly introducesthe basic theory of Flex and ArcGIS Server, and it makes a detailed study and analysis tothe key technologies of the system; Secondly, it constructs the general system WebGISframework which based on the Flex and ArcGIS Server, and shows implementation ofthe client and the Server; Thirdly, it combines the application instance, water resourcesinformation release system of Xiangcheng District of Suzhou shows the system designand function realization; Finally this paper summarizes the research results, puts forwardthe limitations of the study, and makes the bold prospect.This paper focuses on Flex technology and ArcGIS Server platform to carry outresearch work, the following results have been achieved:(1)it used the framework integration thought of Flex, Spring and PureMVC, whichimproves developing efficiency and operating performance of the system;(2)it designed a kind of development concept of loading modules on demand,whichsaved the resources of the system;(3)it realized map service cache and object pooling policy, which accelerated theresponse speed of map services, and optimized the overall performance of the system; (4)it built a general system framework of WebGIS based on Flex and ArcGISServer;(5)it showed the specific design and function implementation of water resourcesinformation release system of Xiangcheng District of Suzhou, which realized somefunctions including system login, basic operations of the map, query and search, user andauthority management, event management, map editing, layer management, pluginmanagement and so on.
