The Design-Build and EPC/Turnkey are widely used in the construction industry around the world, so a type of company, whose main business is the Design-Build and EPC/Turnkey Projects, appears. They are called EPC/DB Contracting Enterprise. In the highly competitive market, one of the main factors for winning is that the company has a proper and effective organizational structure.First the characteristics of EPC/DB Contracting Enterprise are analyzed. And the organizational behavior and organization theory are introduced. Then the factors including environment, strategy, technique, human resource and own attributes are studied and two-factor method is established as profit is the dependent variable. That method classifies those factors into two parts: incentive factor and hygiene factor. The key factors for the organization design of EPC/DB Contracting Enterprise are identified by measuring their influence on the organizational structure dimensions.Finally in this paper, take JCT as an example, according to three reform experience of the organizational structure combined with a detailed analysis for the key factors, practical reform of organizational structure for the next stage of development are tailored based on the actual situation of the enterprise. This paper tries to provide a valuable reference for decision makers of general contractors on organizational structure reforms. |
