The old periodical economic development law of development-depression hasn't appeared in the advanced countries for nearly 20 years, which seems that they have escaped the periodical economic crisis to keep the ever-growing trend. In fact, the economic law is inconvertible. Knowledge economy, the economy that based on knowledge, whose appearance explains why the periodicity is not obvious. In the new economic forms, the leading factors have changed a lot, that is, the intangible factors like knowledge, technology, and information play much greater roles in the economic growth.⑴As to the part of the intangible factor theory, starting from distinguishing the concepts of tangible and intangible factors, this thesis combs the representative academic achievements by the research needs, analyses the intangible factors from demand and supply in the theoretical economics, finding proofs to the replacing phenomenon of the tangible factor by the intangible one in the local economic development, which has experienced an accelerating development trend since the 1990s.⑵As to the part of the affection of the intangible factor upon the regional economy, this thesis takes an original research over three aspects, that is, the intangible factor's effect on the factor system of economic growth, on the regional economic growth modes change and on the economic growth efficiency accounting, and achieves a conclusion that the intangible factor has a wide and everlasting affection upon the regional economic growth.⑶With regard to the part of the fostering of the intangible factor in the regional economic development, this thesis starts from the tangible factors restrictions upon the regional economic development, from the different functions of stock and increment in the intangible factors upon both the urban economy and the rural economy, stresses on the analysis of the allocation of all the important factors, the circulation economy, and the minimization of the distinction of the city and the country. The development of the regional economy is dependent on the growth of the intangible factors, whose fostering should be done from stock and increment.Knowledge economy first grew from the areas with advanced intangible factors.
